Poor Exxon Mobil - Fox Says "Cut Taxes on Big Oil!" Reported by Melanie - February 3, 2006 Does it bother you just a teensy weensy bit that in the fourth quarter of 2005, Exxon Mobil posted the highest profits ever recorded by a U.S. company -- $10.71 billion -- or that its annual 2005 revenues hit $371 billion -- an amount that exceeds the gross domestic product of Saudi Arabia? If you're concerned about these obscene corporate profits and wonder how Fox News is addressing the issue, watch "Forbes on Fox" tomorrow (February 4, 2006) morning. Forbes on Fox is one of Fox's four Saturday morning "Cost of Freedom" "business news" shows. The headline topic tomorrow will be: "Want Lower Gas Prices? Cut Taxes on Big Oil!" That's right. Cut taxes on big oil. And if that's not enough, listen to frequent Fox guest, Ben Stein. On Wednesday Stein appeared on Your World w/Neil Cavuto, Fox's weekday "business news" show. Stein praised Exxon, saying it "deserves every penny" of its profits. He said, "It's a business. It's owned by pensioners, retirees and orphans and widows. It's fine if they get the money." Last week I heard Paul Krugman say that people are suffering from "outrage overload." Is it any wonder why?
